Thomas J. Fraser | CEO
Tom is CEO of First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.
 
Tom was president and CEO of First Federal Lakewood until 2018 and also served as EVP/COO and Chief Lending Officer for the bank. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to his tenure with First Federal Lakewood, he was senior vice president of Westfield Bank. He also held positions of increasing responsibility with the former National City Bank and was a consultant and senior analyst with Andersen Consulting.
 
Tom holds both a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.
 
As a seasoned financial services leader, Tom can provide insight and expertise across the banking landscape, including: executive strategy, operations, compliance, product development, sales, community banking, and mutuality.

Paul is Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer First Mutual Holding Co. the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.

Paul’s executive leadership role encompasses several areas, with his primary responsibility being to oversee credit and legal functions across FMHC. He also provides oversight of legal, risk, compliance and various operational matters at First Federal Lakewood.
 
Paul joined First Federal Lakewood in 2009 as Vice President before assuming his current role. Previously, he held leadership positions for several publicly traded companies, has actively practiced law, and has also worked in the non-profit sector.
 
He is involved in a number of community activities, including board membership on the Westerly, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation, and is a member of the Rocky River Planning Commission.  Paul holds a joint Law and Masters of Planning degree from Cleveland State University and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.

Nancy is Senior Vice President, Digital Innovations Officer at First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.

In this role, Nancy leads the digital delivery strategy for First Mutual Holding Co., overseeing all electronic banking products and services. Her responsibilities include identifying emerging technologies that can enhance the digital delivery of the affiliate bank’s solutions and evaluating ways to better connect and serve customers.
 
Nancy joined First Federal Lakewood in 2010 as Vice President, Call Center Manager and most recently was Senior Vice President, Digital Innovations Officer before transitioning to the same role with First Mutual Holding Co. in 2018. Prior to First Federal Lakewood, she was at Fairfield County Bank in Ridgefield, Connecticut for 20 years, where she held positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she was Vice President of Electronic Banking and Call Center Operations at Fairfield County Bank. She has held positions in retail banking, training and marketing. In addition, Nancy was an instructor for the American Bankers Association in Connecticut and worked for American Express in New York City for 10 years.

Nancy holds a master’s degree in management from Albertus Magnus College and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Marshall University. She is currently a member of the Fiserv Strategic Planning Council and the Digital Banking Leadership Council.

Debra Kaput | SVP, Chief of Staff
Debra Kaput is Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff at First Mutual Holding Co., the largest depositor-owned, no-stock mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.

In her role as Chief of Staff, Debra is focused on bank culture and bringing the employee and customer experiences together. She has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of human resource strategy, talent management, organization development, leadership development and employee engagement.

Prior to joining First Mutual Holding Co., Debra was SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at First Federal Lakewood, the largest depositor-owned community bank headquartered in Ohio. She was also SVP, Director Talent Management and Development at Fifth Third Bank, Executive Vice President and Director, Talent Management at KeyBank and Executive Vice President and Director, Human Resources at KeyBank.

Debra received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from John Carroll University and is a Georgetown University certified Leadership and Executive Coach.

Carl is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.

In his role as CIO, Carl  is leading the technology team through a transformation that includes driving the adoption of shared services and developing and deploying solutions across the enterprise to provide better service. In addition, he is instrumental in identifying innovative technologies that enhance the way affiliate banks can deliver products and services to customers and the community.

A seasoned technology veteran, Carl has over 25 years of experience in technology-related roles in the security and financial services industries. He joined First Federal Lakewood in 2013 as Senior Vice President, CIO before transitioning to the same role with First Mutual Holding Co. in 2017. Prior to First Federal Lakewood, he established the enterprise shared services platform at First Niagara Bank in Buffalo, New York, as Director of Shared Services, Architecture & Development. He also led both enterprise architecture and security architecture teams at PNC Bank and the former National City Bank, and served as a technology consultant for SunTrust Bank in Atlanta.

Carl received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University.

Brian is Senior Vice President, Corporate Governance & Risk Officer at First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.
 
In this role, Brian oversees governance, risk, compliance and internal audit. Brian is responsible for implementing and maintaining best practices for risk management across all lines of business. He works within internal and external requirements to identify, develop and implement process improvements and provide risk oversight for the affiliate banks with an emphasis on quality, sustainability and corporate consistency.

Brian joined First Federal Lakewood in 2016 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Governance & Risk Officer before transitioning to the same role with First Mutual Holding Co. in 2018. Brian previously was the Wealth Chief Risk Officer at FirstMerit Corporation (now a part of Huntington Bank) before being promoted to Enterprise Risk Director, where he developed the overall strategy of the enterprise risk management and operational risk management programs. He also was a Compliance Manager at Key Bank and an Audit Specialist at National City Bank (now a part of PNC).

Brian received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Youngstown State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baldwin Wallace University.

Jen is the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.
 
In this role, Jen provides strategic direction for the formulation, communication, execution and sustainability of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that support strategic imperatives, vision, mission and goals. She drives organizational change by focusing on people, partners and innovation, and forging new working relationships and synergies across the enterprise to execute on critical initiatives that support enterprise and bank strategic imperatives. 
 
Jen joined First Federal Lakewood in 2013 as Vice President of Marketing and has held positions of increasing leadership with the bank and holding company. Prior to joining First Federal Lakewood, Jen was principal and co-owner of Ardent Communications Group, a strategic communications firm specializing in marketing, communications and public relations. She has also served in marketing and communications roles at KeyBank and several commercial real estate firms in Cleveland and Chicago.
 
Jen received a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from Ohio University. She is a member of Women for Economic Leadership and Development (WELD) and is graduate of the Graduate School of Banking Human Resources Management school. Jen is involved in several community organizations, including having served on the board for Lakewood Catholic Academy for six years and as co-founder of LakewoodAlive Light Up Lakewood event.

Dave is Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary of First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank. In this role, he oversees deposit operations and facilities, and leads affiliation efforts for the holding company.

Dave was Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary of First Federal Lakewood until 2018, when he transitioned to the same role with First Mutual Holding Co. Dave joined First Federal Lakewood in 1988 and held positions of increasing responsibility, including: Chief Savings Officer, Chief Security Officer and Vice President of Retail Banking. Prior to First Federal Lakewood, Dave held positions at Transohio Savings Bank and the former Citizens Federal Savings and Loan.

Dave received a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Cleveland State University. He has also completed the acclaimed Academy for Financial Executives at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. 

With extensive financial services industry experience, Dave can provide expertise across many banking areas, including operations, mutuality, residential lending, human resources, sales and marketing, retail banking, and compliance.

Margaret is the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at First Mutual Holding Co., the largest member-owned mutual holding company of its kind in Ohio, with affiliate banks including First Federal Lakewood and First Mutual Bank.
 
In this role, Margaret provides direction and management of accounting, financial compliance, and reporting, along with support towards the overall strategic imperatives and mutuality mission of First Mutual Holding Co. and the banks it serves.

Margaret joined First Mutual Holding Co. in 2019. Previous to joining the team, she served as Chief Financial Officer of First Federal Savings and Loan of Lorain and as Vice President and CFO at North Akron Savings Bank. She also served in executive and leadership roles at several financial institutions in the greater Cleveland area.
 
Outside of work, Margaret works closely within her Catholic church community and has volunteered with many organizations. She enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and being with friends and family. She has four children and is a long-time resident of the Akron/Cuyahoga Falls area.
